What is a power factor? Disadvantages of Low Power Factor

Power factor:

                       The power of true power and the power of aprent power is called power factor.
                                          That is, the power factor = true power / simulatory power
                                                   
                                                          Where true power means the reading of the watts meter
                                                           And simulatory power means the volt meter and ammeter's reading

                                                           I.e. pf = w / vi
               
                           That is, the value of the power factor is the cosine of the phase angle between voltage and current.

Impact of Low Power Factor (In Distribution System):

                           Distribution method increases the power factor as the power factor decreases, Increasing the current increases the amount of power consumed in the line and increases the voltage drop.

On the Impact of Low Power Factor (Household Appliances):

                            Due to the low power factor, the efficiency of this type of equipment is reduced and the speed of the motor decreases with it.

Disadvantages of Low Power Factor:

 If there is a power factor, the power flow will increase for that same power power because the voltage is constant, increasing the current of electricity will increase the copper efficiency and reduce the efficiency of the machinery.
The cost of transmitting lines will be higher for less power factor, so the cost of transmitting power will increase.
Due to the low power factor, the terminal voltage is greatly reduced, so a good voltage regulation is needed for the transformer, generator, and transmission line.
Electricity flows from low power factor to transmission line and switch gear, or in other words, the cost of generation and transmission that means generation and transmission increases
